I’m so glad you’re here! Choosing a photographer is such a personal decision, and it’s about so much more than just liking a portfolio. You need to trust and feel comfortable with the person behind the camera so that your true self can shine through in the photos. That's why it's important that you get to know me so, we can ensure we’re a great fit not just creatively, but also personally.
Here are some fast facts to help you learn a bit more about me:
1. Almost Everyone Calls Me Liv, But My Full Name is Elizabeth
I live in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, with my husband, our two young daughters and our grey cat, Ash. I am probably best described as a "scrunchy mom". I breastfed my children until they were close to two, used cloth diapers, and still co-sleep with my youngest child & dream of getting a chicken coop. But there also many things less "crunchy" that I choose to do and buy to help make the mammoth task of raising kids and running a business more feasible. Honestly, it's still a mystery how any of us moms manage to juggle everything we’re expected to handle.
2. I'm a Jersey Native
I was raised on a farm in rural northwest New Jersey, surrounded by chickens, horses, goats, dogs, cats, and countless other animals. At 10, I started my first business selling eggs. One of my favorite things about living in Chester County is the vast landscapes and rolling hills. It reminds me of home, but thankfully I no longer have to drive super far to get to everything. As a country girl, I am always going to be down for wading in creeks, running through fields, and exploring every to get the perfect shot during your session.
3. My Family is My Why - Why I Do This, Why It Matters To Me, Why I Love It
Much of my creative drive comes from my own experience as a mother. The desire to remember every little detail and create a visual narrative of “us” fuels my work. For my families, I aim to create photographs with the same depth of nostalgia and emotion as those of my children.
4. Creativity is Deeply Rooted in My History
I come from a family of artists—my father is a painter and my mother is an actress. I spent my childhood immersed in all things creative and always planned to have a career in the arts. I have two art degrees, a B.F.A. in Illustration & Film Photography and a M.A. in Medieval Art History.
5. I'm a Homebody, But Also Love Exploring New Cultures
There’s nothing I love more than spending a day at home reading, doing a crossword puzzle, crocheting or gardening, except for traveling & exploring new places. Prior to settling down in Phoenixville, I lived in Scotland, Italy and London. Since my kids were born, we haven't been able to travel as much as we used to, but this is something I am so excited to do with them as they grow!
6. This Became My Full Time Job After My Youngest Daughter Was Born
Before I did this full time, I was a study abroad advisor for students studying in the UK, and worked in an art museum. During this time I did photography in my spare time, but it wasn't until my oldest daughter was born that I began to think seriously about it being a career. Once my youngest daughter was born, I took a leap of faith and left my job. I literally haven't regretted my decision for a single second. I love the families I work with, the extra time I get with my children, and that my schedule allows me to put our life first.
7. I'll Probably Talk Way Too Much at Our Session
Partially a side effect of having my children as my peers most of the time, and partially due to an insatiable curiosity to learn about other people. Can't wait to meet you there!
